I had the pleasure of photographing this *very new* little one over the weekend. She is an angel and was so patient during the session. She has a wonderful family who already love her dearly and speak so softly and gently to her. There is something so reverent about a newborn in the house. I love it.

Even though I've posted a bunch here already, I have even more photos for you, Hil! I just wanted to share some of my faves :) She is such a beautiful little girl! I'm really proud of you guys...you are both amazing parents already. She's so blessed!

My husband John and I returned from a trip to France about a month ago where we visited my family and the French countryside, navigated the crazy French highways, toured countless cathedrals, ate pain au chocolat everyday (multiple times a day) :) and explored the windy streets of Paris hand in hand (with John's other hand holding our umbrella).

I thought I would share some photos of our adventure with you! I'll be doing these in installments...editing over 700 photos is a tad time consuming and I enjoy taking breaks in between :)

My dear friends have waited patiently for their little girl! And the wait was worth it, of course :) She's such a snuggle bug and her big brother LOVES her so much! We captured some photos really quick the other afternoon before sundown. The lighting wasn't ideal, but we made the best of it.

I can't resist entering this little munchkin's photo in the I Heart Faces challenge for the first week of January. Uh, yeah, ya can't really pose a picture like this...I just can't believe I had my camera out at that exact moment :) It still makes me laugh and probably always will! We were getting ready to decorate our Christmas tree and voila! This kiddo of mine is so curious and I love that part of his personality!

I love the feeling of a New Year. New possibilites, new memories to be made, fresh starts, traditions to look forward to. Ahhh, just feels good, ya know? :)
Tonight I was looking through my (MANY) holiday photos and came across this one that was taken during our horse-drawn sleigh ride. It warmed my heart and made me laugh :) The phrase "Like father like son" comes to mind :) That would make me very happy to have my little son become the kind of man my husband John is...this bitsy boy of mind has an amazing example to look up to.

Autumn is bursting with color this year! On our morning walk, we discovered one of the most beautiful trees in our neighborhood, and to Michael's sheer pleasure, an even more beautiful pile of leaves, quietly waiting just for him. Then it began raining...not the wet, grey, drippy kind so commonly seen this time of year in Seattle, but the running, jumping, tossing, falling, tossing some more, giggling, discovering, squealing, ooohing, ahhhing, enjoying, sunshiny, gold and red kind. We are LOVE LOVE LOOOOVING this (November?!) weather!

All Hail Michael, Prince of the Forest!

We collected colorful leaves yesterday morning and made an Autumn Crown. That afternoon, we marched all over the neighborhood exploring. I was DELIGHTED when Michael wore it for over an hour and didn't want to take it off...in fact, he kept saying "HAT! HAT!" Simply loving this little boy of mine and trying to soak up all the sunshiny weather these days.

We've been enjoying the ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL weather here in Seattle. I heard someone say that today it might be in the 70's!? We're taking advantage and getting outside for walks and exploring as much as possible and making tasty treats to take to friends. What are you up to these days to celebrate the new season?

We had the second half of the photo party...this time with dad! I loved his idea to get a photo of him jumping over his daughter's head...it makes her laugh really hard (just not when she's being photographed) ;)

There is a special bond between fathers and daughters...I adore this photo.

Happy Birthday little one! Here's a little peak of a few we captured tonight. I'm SO glad we were able to go on such a beautiful evening. And this dress that her great Aunt gave her was just perfect!

There's something about this one that I LOVE!! I think it just captures the innocence of childhood and her curiosity about life. She's such a go-getter!

I want to tell you about this little girl...

She is a miracle in every sense of the word.

Her parents waited a long time for her to join their family. And when she came, she was perfect!

She is such a joy to everyone around her and has the greatest personality and sense of humor (I'm laughing to myself right now just thinking about 'snanwiches' and yellow cheese...and ham for that matter)!

About 1 month ago, she was diagnosed with leukemia. It has been a long month for her and her family to say the least. So many, many changes and adjustments. She has endured multiple doctor's appointments, hospital stays, medicine several times a day and constant pain. She has had good and not-so-good days, just as you might imagine.

I came over to her family's home a few weeks ago on a GREAT evening! It was her baby sister's 6th month birthday and we had a dance party and ate chocolate chip cookies! And to what song you might add? None other than "Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow. She LOVED the part "Ohhhh ohhh ohhh ohhh ohh ohh ohh ohh ohh ohh ohh OOOOO" :) We listened to it over and over and over. My heart filled with so much gratitude to be a part of such a special evening...watching her dance, so full of life and spirit!

And now for the best news I've heard in a LONG time...

After only one month of chemotherapy, she is officially in remission! The doctors can't explain it and say this is pretty rare. We all know that this is truly a miracle thanks to the many prayers of countless friends and family members.

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of such a special moment along your journey. It was my pleasure :)

It's emanating from these two parents. They are so patient and tender with their two daughters and it was a joy to be around them this afternoon! One of their sweethearts is very sick and was having a rough day. Her parents just walked with her and softly taught her about some of the flowers and insects. We might try again next week when little C is feeling better.

Mr. baby and I had an adventure today. We got dressed in our Sunday best and headed out to visit a beautiful local cemetery. I find cemeteries very peaceful and serene...maybe it has something to do with the fact that I grew up near one and often went for walks there. Gravely paths lined with mature trees and unique headstones are just a few of the beauties I enjoy. When we passed through the front gates, I feeling of reverence came over me as I pondered the many lives that were laid to rest. So many different stories and all important to their loved ones. We found this statue and since Easter is coming this Sunday, I captured a few shots. The most important gift in my life is my Savior and His sacrifice. He gave His life for me and I know that he was resurrected and that He now LIVES. We headed to the Seattle Arboretum afterward. I really wanted to get a few photos of him in his Easter attire (thanks mom :) and just as we pulled into the parking lot, it started POURING down rain! Hmmmm...not ideal! So, we waited for a few minutes until the clouds parted and set off on our walk to find a nice patch of grass. I thought this shot was pretty cute!! After about 1 minute, his pants were completely sopping wet!

Then, the following ensued...

stripping off the sweater and shirt
more crawling
smearing the mud
crying as we headed to the car...
...only in a diaper...
...as it started to rain on us!

I definitely love this tooshie :) I took this photo of my husband on vacation this summer up on Chesterman Beach, Vancouver, BC.

We were digging our heels into the sand and spinning around to see who could do the most revolutions in a row. As John was "going for the gold" as he put it, he tumbled over! So glad I got this shot :) Enjoy more tooshies over at I Heart Faces this week!

For his first Halloween, bitsy was a cowboy. I found the hat and boots and then I made him his vest and chaps. Since I didn't have a pattern, I was so happy and relieved that they fit him perfectly! He got a scratch on his face the day before which makes his photo look so authentic :) He looks quite suspicious of something in this first picture. It was a fun night! He was such a sweetheart when we took him out Trick or Treating around the neighborhood. I just can't get enough of my little rodeo star!
